Williams Fact Finding Report vs. Tentative Settlement

Please note that Williams USD has not received the official Fact-Finding Report.  We posted the Tentative Agreement which was sent to Williams USD School Board and officially approved at the November 16th School Board meeting.  The Fact-Finding Report, although a public document, is currently being contested by the Arbitrator, Mediator to PERB (Public Employees Relations Board) to not post the Fact Finding Report; therefore, it will be contested and a response can be written by WTA or Williams USD by December 4, 2017.  At the time, PERB will make a decision.  More information to come as we hear from PERB.  In the meantime, please feel free to look at our Tentative Agreement that has been board approved and available in the link below:

Dear Williams USD Stakeholders & Staff,

I am pleased to report that your Williams Unified School District negotiating team has secured a tentative agreement with the Williams Teacher Association covering a two-year period and I will be taking it to our Board of Education for approval on November 16, 2017.

The agreement includes a restructured salary schedule that increases salaries for beginning teachers to help us attract the most highly qualified educators possible for our children.  The restructured salary schedule also reduces the steps needed to reach the highest pay level for those educators who have dedicated their careers to the Williams Unified School District.  Click here to view the Tentative Agreement

In addition, the agreement includes a greater District contribution toward health benefits and the ability to continue to strengthen our professional development efforts and continuously improve our delivery of services to all our students. (See the attached agreement)

We greatly appreciate the hard work of our teachers and their commitment to our students and families.

The Williams Teachers Association ratified the tentative agreement on November 2, 2018.  As we move forward, I look forward to working with our students, their families, our educators and all of our terrific staff as we continue to focus on improving our school district’s climate, culture, facilities and student outcomes. We have the staff and leadership in place to do the work needed to make our community proud.

I also look forward to the support of all our district stakeholders in making this happen!

Sincerely,

Edgar Lampkin Ed. D.

Williams USD Superintendent
